Nano Fat Grafting Dermal Filler FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About Using Nano Fat Grafting for Dermal Fillers –
Thanks to an incredible new procedure known as Nano Fat Grafting, New York City men and women now have the option of removing unwanted fat from one part of their body, and relocating it to an area where they desire an increase of volume. When used to restore facial volume lost to the aging process, Nano Fat Grafting acts as a natural and longer-lasting alternative to dermal fillers.
In this article board certified dermatologist Gary Goldenberg answers patients’ most frequently asked questions about cutting edge Nano Fat Grafting as an alternative to synthetic dermal fillers.
How is Nano Fat Grafting Performed?
At our New York City dermatology practice, three distinct steps are used to perform Nano Fat Grafting. First, after the treatment area is treated with local anesthesia, the desired amount of fat will be removed. This is performed either using liposuction, or (for smaller amounts of fat) using a small needle attached to a syringe.
During the second step of Nano Fat Grafting, a centrifuge is used to spin and isolate the fat cells from other fluids that may have been retained during liposuction.
Finally, during the last step of Nano Fat Grafting, Dr. Golenberg will inject the isolated fat cells into the target area where more volume is desired. In addition to the fat cells, additional tissue such as stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) may also be injected.
Why is Nano Fat Grafting Better than Dermal Fillers?
Our New York City patients often complain of being tired of both the expense and temporary results of dermal fillers. Nano Fat Grafting addresses both of these concerns: not only does the procedure offer more permanent improvement to facial contours, it can do so at a lower cost. Since a single treatment session is enough to transfer a large amount of fat that lasts up to three years, New York City Nano Fat Grafting patients wind up spending much less than they would on the many ongoing “touch ups” required of dermal fillers.
And, since Nano Fat Grafting is performed using only the patient’s own fat, our New York City patients face zero risk of allergic reaction the procedure. This stands in contrast to traditional dermal fillers, which contain foreign chemicals like polymethylmethacrylate, and are known to cause allergic reactions in some people.
Furthermore, since the body’s fat is rich with naturally-regenerative stem cells, Nano Fat Grafting patients are also likely to experience improvement to the skin of the treatment area’s tone and texture. Such a level of skin rejuvenation cannot be achieved through traditional dermal fillers, but is one of the many benefits of Nano Fat Grafting.
And finally, since Nano Fat Grafting stimulates the production of collagen and aids in the restoration of skin cells – facial tone and texture is also improved.
Do Nano Fat Grafting Fillers Hurt?
Nano Fat Grafting is performed under local anesthesia. For this reason, our New York City patients experience no discomfort whatsoever during treatment. In the first few days that follow a Nano Fat Grafting procedure, our New York City patients may experience some mild soreness at the treatment area, but nothing too severe.
What Areas Can Nano Fat Grafting Fillers Treat?
First and foremost, Nano Fat Grafting can be used to treat wrinkles and fine lines, as well as add volume to hollow cheeks and sunken temples. But New York City patients who wish to treat dark circles around the eyes or a sunken appearance under the eyes may also do so with Nano Fat Grafting.
At our New York City Practice, we also use Nano Fat Grafting to treat deep smile and frown lines, as well as to add volume to thin lips. Nano Fat Grafting can also be used to treat the appearance of scars, and can also fill in skin depressions and contour irregularities. Additionally, Nano Fat Grafting can even be used to help with the appearance of aging hands.
How Many Nano Fat Grafting Treatments will I Need?
For many of our New York City patients, a single Nano Fat Grafting treatment proves to be more than sufficient as a “dermal filler”. For others, with more severe volume loss, 2 or 3 Nano Fat Grafting treatments may be desired to reach their desired results.
