How Laser Genesis Treats Sun Damage
Laser Genesis works by delivering gentle but powerful thermal energy deep into the dermis (lower layer of skin) – while keeping the epidermis (upper layer of skin) intact. The laser energy stimulates new cellular growth, and activates the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid over time.
As the skin repairs itself “from the inside out” the renewed collagen fibers improve skin tone and texture, while the elastin improves skin sagging making it “snap back” into place. The hyaluronic acid imparts renewed plumpness to the skin. And the specific laser frequencies target and dissolve unwanted pigmentation.

The number and frequency of treatments will depend upon the type and degree of sun damage you have, as well as your skin type. Many skin problems can be treated with a series of only 3 treatments spaced about a month apart. Patients with more severe sun damage may require 6 Laser Genesis treatments before they start noticing dramatic results.
Laser Genesis Results
We like to say that the most common side effect of Laser Genesis treatments is healthy, glowing skin! But because the procedure is “non-ablative” (leaves the skin intact) the only other side effect is pinkness of the skin (resembling a healthy glow), which typically disappears within a few hours or less.
As with any medical treatment, results will vary from person to person, depending on the patient’s age, condition of their skin, and degree of sun damage that has already been done. But most patients have sustained results that last up to 12 months.
